Emmie is a 2 year old terrier possibly mixed with some kind of herding breed. She was picked up as a stray by Animal Control. Due to her shyness she could not be placed on their adoption floor. This is where ARPO came in. An ARPO foster saw her picture and decided she needed to be given a chance to blossom (and she has!). Emmie is a sweet girl who just wants to please you and loves to cuddle up with you. She is very obedient, listens well and has lots of young dog energy. She still needs some leash manners, as she seems a bit nervous on the leash, although she loves to go for walks. She has gotten a bit better on the leash since she has been in her foster home. She is in her crate when her foster mother is working or at the store. She tends to get into things when not crated. She is still a little shy when meeting new people, but warms up quickly, especially when given treats! Emmie is very fast and loves to run and play ball! She would do well in a home with older kids. Although she would prefer being the only dog, she would get along with another dog as long as it is a submissive male dog that can match her energy level. No cats or small critters in the household for Emmie! Emmie has been blossoming in her foster home and has a lot of potential for being a great dog for an active family household given the chance. Won’t you give Emmie that chance?
